Draft ideas to consider for a Deanery website
This is an unofficial work-in-progress by Mark Cheverton, Deanery Synod Treasurer, to illustrate ideas for a Leatherhead Deanery website. I hope the information is useful but some may not be up-to-date and it is not endorsed by the Synod. As it is just illustrating ideas, there is little attempt at refinement or completeness.
Deanery Events Calendars
To add these meetings to your own calendar, subscribe to both of these:
Clicking both of the following may do this for you. Otherwise, every calendar app has a subscribe to option. Find it in your calendar app menus and paste both of these in and subscribe, one at a time. Follow any instructions.
To have an event published here, invite leatherhead.deanerycom as a guest to the event in your own calendar. Better still, your church can have a separate calendar just for special events which can be included here automatically.
Check parish websites for latest details.

* BCP, the Book of Common Prayer, is in traditional (archaic) language, loved by some for its beauty; 'order two' is usually in similar traditional language;
Common Worship 'order one' is usually in modern language that is easier to understand. In Common Worship there are versions of both orders in both modern and traditional English, so this is only a guide by the perplexed for the perplexed for where a church isn't more specific! Go along or ask the church in question to be sure, then let me know.
Combined Calendars for the Deanery
This shows all the calendars for the deanery and its churches for which a publicly-accessible standard 'ical' source is known.
Tip! The little arrow in the top right allows you to select which calendars are shown and also shows the colours for each.
This helps you tell similar-sounding events apart without having to drill down into the detail for each event just to find out which church posted it when it doesn't say where it is.
Publish your church events here
If your church calendar is not here, make sure it is shared publicly and send an email with the ical address for your calendar to the deanery. It is a great help to readers if the event title or location names the parish and church! Use a separate calendar just for special events. We automatically make special event calendars much more prominent than those which include regular services and groups.
